Robert Leighton Hodson (1885–1960) was the second Bishop of Shrewsbury in the modern era[1]. Educated at Berkhamsted School and St Edmund Hall, Oxford[2], he was successively Curate at St Peter's Wolverhampton[3], Vicar of St Stephen’s, Cheltenham, Rector and Rural Dean of Wolverhampton and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Stafford. He retired in 1959 [4] but died only a year later.
